With soloists Philippa Hyde, Ciara Hendrick, Nicholas Mulroy and Edward Grint. Selected as one of 'the best Christmas Concerts in the UK' for 2023 by the BBC Music Magazine!
We did it! Our recording of three of Pepusch's Chandos anthems is in the can! We recorded the Christmas piece Rejoice in the Lord, the first-ever 'numbers' Magnificat in English and intimate O Praise the Lord. We also squeezed in single movement (all that survives) of Pepusch's oboe concerto in B flat. The record company, Accent, are hoping the disc will be released in time for the Christmas season. On 30 August 2021 We returned from our long hiatus under Covid restrictions to the wonderful Festival Oude Muziek in Utrecht, Netherlands, with Pepusch's stunning two-act opera before a sold-out audience. Ciara Hendrick and Philippa Hyde returned as the title characters, with the stylish bass-baritone Vitali Rozynko joining as Mars.
